Running Shadow™
Shadow™ is a suite of software that allows the end user to control many remote machines simultaneously.
The remote machines that are controlled must be running the Shadow™ Target software and be connected to a machine running the Shadow™ Dispatcher.
The controlling (client) machine must be running the Shadow™ Viewer software and be connected to a machine running the Shadow™ Dispatcher.
Running Shadow™ Dispatcher
If the Shadow™ Dispatcher is installed as a Windows™ service then the application can be controlled via the Windows™ Services snap-in. Further, the Shadow™ Dispatcher service will automatically start when the machine is started. The port that the Shadow™ Dispatcher service uses is configured in the file
shadowDispatcherConfig.xml.
To run the Shadow™ Dispatcher software as a standard (non-service) application simply open the application, select a port number and click
OK.
Whenever the Shadow™ Dispatcher application is running an icon will appear in the Windows™ system tray. Hovering your mouse cursor over this icon will show you the current port number that the Shadow™ Dispatcher is listening on.
Running Shadow™ Target
If the Shadow™ Target is installed as a Windows™ service then the application can be controlled via the Windows™ Services snap-in. shadowTargetConfig.xml.
